Virginia National Organization for Women PAC Enthusiastically Endorses John LaCombe for The 81st District House of Delegates Race

Virginia Beach, VA, December 22, 2008 -- Marj Signer, President of Virginia NOW PAC, released the following statement today concerning John LaCombe and his candidacy for the 81st District House of Delegates race.

"Rarely do we see a candidate such as John LaCombe, who knows in his heart and soul that politics at its very highest is a calling to public service and who is a crusader for those who are struggling and in need. John fought against predatory lending in Virginia and across the country in order to establish protections for people ensnared in cycles of debt. John will fight for the core principles of NOW in Virginia and nationally, which are ending violence, poverty and racism and promoting Constitutional equality and human rights. The Virginia NOW PAC enthusiastically endorses John LaCombe for the seat of delegate in the 81st District. He represents the fresh voices and commitment to progress that Virginians overwhelmingly voted for in the 2008 election. We encourage all Virginians who seek justice and dignity to contribute financially to his campaign.”

John LaCombe is the Democratic Party nominee for the 81st district House of Delegates special election, which is scheduled for January 6th, 2009. John is the youngest nominee for a state legislative race in Virginia Democratic Party history, and if elected he will replace Thomas Jefferson as the youngest legislator in Virginia history. John’s priorities include protecting education investments, building transportation infrastructure, creating jobs for the people of the 81st district and all of Virginia, and fighting for justice and equality for all people.
