NAMELETS Colorful Rubber Personal ID Bracelets Latest Tween Fashion Craze
New York - Feb. 16 - Are ID bracelets making a comeback? And how! Feb. 20-23, at the 102nd Annual American Toy Fair, Manhattan-based Small Marvel will begin world-wide distribution of its new "in" product aimed at tween-agers, NAMELETS (http://www.MYNAMELETS.com).
NAMELETS combines the hot new fashion trend of colorful rubber LiveStrong-style bracelets with the classic tradition of personal name bracelets.
The bracelets, which currently come in four colors, are engraved on the front with popular first names and on the inside with the famous Shakespeare quote: "To Thine Own Self Be True."
When Small Marvel founder Craig Zucker visited a suburban mall in Beachwood, Ohio during the Christmas season, he observed several tween-aged girls buying and collecting engraved silicone bracelets. He overheard several ask clerks where they could buy bracelets engraved with their name.
Zucker, a former marketing executive at Meetup.com, foresaw that combining names with the popular rubber bracelet rage would be a huge success. Within days, Zucker created and launched (MYNAMELETS.com). Bracelet orders since Feb. 1 have exceeded 30,000.
Jeffrey Kennis, CEO of Enchanted Moments, the largest eastern U.S. distributor of toys and gifts, was so excited about NAMELETS, he instantly added the line. He said, "every so often a product comes along that combines style, trend, price and demand; we think NAMELETS are going to be enormously popular with young teens and tweens. We’re thrilled to be a part of the new name bracelet trend and jointly introduce it to retailers at Toy Fair next week."
Currently, 100 of the most popular girls' names in four colors are featured on the website www.MYNAMELETS.com and in selected stores. Suggested retail price for the item is $4.00 and $12.00 for the set of all four colors with your name. Zucker plans to have them in over 1,000 stores by Easter and have boys' names ready for delivery in four weeks.
Resourceful charities will benefit from the product as well. Several have ordered the product in discounted volume featuring the name of a child in medical need, and are selling them as fundraisers. Retailers can also buy NAMELETS at a discounted price by donating a portion of proceeds to a local charity of their choice.
