webEdition releases Version 3.1 of its Web site CMS
Ottawa, Ontario – Aug. 11 - webEdition Software Ltd. (http://www.webedition-cms.com) announced today the release of Version 3.1 of its award-winning CMS software.
Among the enhancements introduced in webEdition Version 3.1, the new Photo Album feature represents the highlight, offering automatic thumbnail generation and basic photo editing capabilities. webEdition users can now archive their photos in a photo album and publish them on the internet in just three simple steps: upload, import and publish. The Photo Album feature creates an overview page, or gallery, on which photos appear as thumbnail (or miniature) images. By clicking on a thumbnail, a visitor to a Web site can view a full-sized image. Detailed images can be presented in the same window or in a separate pop-up window.
The photo gallery function builds upon webEdition’s traditional strengths: its modular architecture. For example, by using the Photo Album feature in conjunction with the Customer Management Pro Module, a webEdition user can create an area on a Web site where only registered customers have access, a feature that is sought after by photo studios and graphics agencies.
A number of other enhancements have been incorporated into Version 3.1, including a revised WYSIWYG editor, simplified navigation, an XML export function, and improved database performance.
The webEdition CMS is designed specifically to address the needs of Web design agencies, freelancers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). The product allows users to update Web sites simply and inexpensively. The Standard Version of this full-featured, modular system starts at just $249 US.
